Yes I’m getting in early, but I am booking accomodation for Cancon 2012 to ensure we get what we want.
This year Cancon runs on Friday 27th Jan to Sunday 29th Jan. For most of us that means driving up on Australia Day (yes that’s the 26th) and driving home on Monday the 30th.

I am booking accomodation at the same place as last year Carotel Canberra, though I am getting a large bungalow room with 10 singles and a double. We miss out on cooking facilities such as the fry pan and hot plate….but instead have more room and a second shower!
I also plan to book a small bungalow room with 3-4 beds for those who prefer sleep to all night drafting, board games and shenanigans. This room will have the same facilities as the large room and will cost a bit more for those sharing it.
I will add prices to this post later in October when the Carotel updates their prices for next year….check the website for this year’s pricing as a guide.

I am expecting more participants this year so get in early cause once the rooms are full it’ll be up to you to organise your own accomodation.

The plan is for the car loads to meet up at the Maccas at Wallan (on the Hume, after the Wallan turn off) at 8:30 for breakfast.
According to Whereis that means leaving Frankston at 7:00am.
I’ll let the drivers sort out there own pickup arrangements for the people they are taking..
