Michael, did you clean up the formatting?

So I haven’t really looked at or played standard much lately but anyway…..
Tempered steel is probably fine, though I expect it to still be a deck anyway so people will be prepared for it….I like what curse of the stalked prey is doing, but maybe it feels like overkill or a do nothing card when your looking for a guy to beat/block with. Maybe the curse could be used in a white red weenie deck that makes lots of guys with cards like hero of bladehold?
Smallpox is my favourite deck of te ones you’ve posted….I love unburial rites in this. Hardest thing is probably making the mana work for 3 colour with so many BB cards you want to cast early.
The Chandra deck I don’t really get….but its decks like these you build which always surprise me when I see them in action….feels like with all that proliferate action you want to run some amount of inkmoth nexus as an alternate win con if the manabase lets you.
The heartless summoning deck doesn’t excite me, I can see the cool interactions in it, but feel that control decks would love to play against it as there is only a few worrying cards to counter or kill.
The pod deck looks like it leans on pod too much and might play inconsistantly when you can’t get the pod going. I think the key to a pod deck will be to get some of the siuational 1 offs into the sideboard. That said I lie all of your 1 off choices :). I like the idea of pushing skaab ruinator a bit more in this….ie using his play from the graveyard to get a flow of 4 drops going?
One idea I don’t mind is using delver of secrets and snapcaster mage in something like UB or UW control or in a UR counterburn deck.
That said this is for the GP, whatever the deck is it needs to finish games in a reasonable amount of time….you don’t want to be stuck going to time every round!

Ok, so the tempered steel deck is missing Porcelain Legionaire, that card is a friggen beating. Other than that, looks awesome. Maybe consider Concussive Bolt in the SB against other tempered steel decks?
Maybe the a birthing pod smallpox hybrid would work (I am still really new to all these cards). Either way, I’m with Tuckie on the current BP deck.
The heartless summoning deck looks like a neat idea, but not quite there. I’d be interested to play against it.
The chandra deck looks cool, but with lashwrithe and proliferate it feels like it needs some infect. Also, maybe the new fireball with flashback? Double casting that should win the game!
That’s all I have so far, hope it helps. I am free to test most nights this week, but you’ll have to bring the decks.

Just a crazy deck idea I threw together
Anyone like turn 2 batterskull or urabrask?
What about attacking with a 5/5 on turn 2?

Yeah, I cleaned up formatting and added a few deck sketches — mostly based on some of Flores’ musings.

Don’t like the crazy all in red idea so much, since most decks will run [card]Dismember[/card], and you could invest a lot for nothing with that deck.
I like the idea of control, but I agree with Steve and am seriously thinking about something that can win games quickly and punish badly built decks.
A big mark against the Tempered Steel decks is [card]Ancient Grudge[/card]. This is going to be in a lot of Sideboard. Also fights [card]Birthing Pod[/card].
In regards to Pod, I think that if playing it we need to be able to beat decks with a playset of [card]Torpor Orb[/card]. [card]Sylvok Replica[/card] helps but can’t be the complete answer. And if I’m not playing Pod, I’m probably playing 4 Torpor Orb in my sideboard as it pretty much shuts down the deck.
I think [card]Heartless Summoning[/card] has potential, but could be complicated to build the right deck for it.
I don’t think [card]Cryptoplasm[/card] is good enough for Pod. I wonder if that and [card]Blade Splicer[/card] shouldn’t be replaced by 2-3 [card]Fiend Hunter[/card]s and a couple of elves could possibly become [card]Avacyn’s Pilgrim[/card]s to help cast them early.

Though I am loathe to suggest it, is there any chance of rebuilding a cawblade type deck with these new spirits? Ancient Grudge may have killed it a bit but it still seems like it could be good. Also, puresteel paladin was good, does anyone have a list for that?

As much as I don’t want to admit it…here’s a cawbladish deck that I’ve been thinking about
I also like lantern spirit in this.
The biggest issue I see is having long games or draws at the GP.
(Deck added to main post — mjw.)
(changed to deck slightly to reflect new thoughts….sun titan seems a bit loose….but the idea is to make a bit of use of forbidden alchemy)
