Decks for GP Brisbane

This is the version of Solar Flare I’ve been working on with Damien and Steve and that I’m currently looking at playing next week in Bribane. I was thinking main deck crusaders, but the metagame from the SCG open this weekend seems to have shifted more to control, or at least less red/white aggro.

Other cards I am considering and planing to test more are Ponder, Mental Misstep and Azure Mage.

To balance the mana better I suggest swap a swamp for a plains.
I think the mana is the weakest part of this build…4 x BB, 4 x WW and 1 x UU main with 2 x UU out of the board. Also the split is 35% B, 33% U and 30% W.
I would be tempted to make dissapate negate out of the board just for mana reasons. This way you only need BB and WW by turn 3 and 4 and UU whenever you want to play your 1 off sphinx.

What is sever the bloodline for in the board?

I assume azure mage is for the control matchup to give more card draw….I’d actually like to see this number increase so you can also start a beat down with snapcaster and azure against them.

Also dissapointed that the dead weight count is now only 1. I feel this card in the graveyard makes blocking a sun titan extremely difficult….I’d be tempted by 2 or 3 of these, though not sure what you’d cut (maybe a plains for 1?)

    Hope that helps…..

Frost titan keeps shrine of burning rage tapped for what its worth!
