Hey guys, this Saturday is modern down at Glens, was hoping we could get enough players to actually play. Modern is a great format but it’s an expensive format for new players to play, basically we need the players who have access to the cards to start a strong player base and establish a meta game. Without this the format dies before it began.

This is the version of Solar Flare I’ve been working on with Damien and Steve and that I’m currently looking at playing next week in Bribane. I was thinking main deck crusaders, but the metagame from the SCG open this weekend seems to have shifted more to control, or at least less red/white aggro.

Other cards I am considering and planing to test more are Ponder, Mental Misstep and Azure Mage.

I loved the idea you proposed I tuned and tweaked the list a bit and came up with the following, main inclusion was titan cos he’s massive and is a mana sink for the late rituals, the Chandras allow you to copy a brimstone volley for 10 to the face, always good, the volleys themselves are so good with this deck. the signal pests are early guys to be sacced but also allow for the other dorks to do something if the situation arises, I added the gambits for smoothing and Chandra 😀 plus birds allows you to not always pay the life

Yes I’m getting in early, but I am booking accomodation for Cancon 2012 to ensure we get what we want.
This year Cancon runs on Friday 27th Jan to Sunday 29th Jan. For most of us that means driving up on Australia Day (yes that’s the 26th) and driving home on Monday the 30th.

This is a general call out to anyone who would like to draft (or play some casual games) during the next three Friday evenings. Plan would be usual arrangement, 7pm at our house.

If we don’t get numbers (say for this week with only a couple of days notice) then I’m still interested in playing some standard or modern, or whatever.

I’ll keep a list of people here for draft planning.

The new base set M12 is released this weekend.
On Sunday 14th Aug I will be hosting a Two Headed Giant Atogatog.

Teams can be organised before the day, but will be finalised on the when we know all players who are coming.
Each team will receive 8 packs with which to build two 40 card decks. Arguments over who gets what card to be held after the event :D.

Feel free to arrive from 10.30 onwards. (Message me if you need my new address)
Packs can be opened when your teammate arrives. Games to start at 12.00.
We will play either 4 or 5 rounds depending on the number of players.

Please note it is important you confirm your attendance as I need to end up with an even number of players. If I get odd numbers the last person in is likely to miss out.
